Boat makes more sense than people walking through snow.

A boat is far more complex than walking I disagree

I agree it's complex. IMO humans discovered buoyancy before fire, as water is more immediate to our survival.  Boat is more natural and closer tech evolution in early human civilizations.  The groups who came to America before columbus may have made the journey, but didn't adapt to the new environment or were killed by the natives. Or they assimilated with the natives and their blood were promptly diluted to nothing. Boating over can be achieved in one lifetime, whereas the journey by foot would take generations.

I know its not a religious discussion and you don't believe in the nitty gritty of dogma details, but I want to share this just as extra information since we have few references from early history. Exodus 5:2 and Quran 20:49 both mention Pharoah asking Moses about who God is.  Quran then mentions Pharoah asking a second question, not in the Bible, about "former or first generations". Scholars have different views about what this meant exactly. Some of the translations: [image] But to me, that's Pharoah asking the same question in your mind and my mind and definitely Grahams mind. And to me, that's also a sign from the Quran that these structures predate the Pharoahs, especially when taken in conjunction with many other verses spread all over the Quran that talk about former peoples and generations, with great footprint on the land, greater striking power, greater cities, replacing one people with another, repeating creation etc

Yes, Laird Sinclair has several books on the Dogon. The symbols that they use to tell their stories are similar to early Egyptian glyphs and the meanings are near as well.
