Yes, Laird Sinclair has several books on the Dogon. The symbols that they use to tell their stories are similar to early Egyptian glyphs and the meanings are near as well.

That might be, I am going off of memory. I believe that most people consider him to "fringe" and he is not claiming to be an expert as far as I could tell and remember. I have not interacted with him nor observed him at all. I have only read one or two of his books, several years ago. I am not hung up on if someone has the proper pieces of paper from the proper institutions. And I believe that even idiots can ask great questions and make remarkable observations, so I give everyone a chance to share and then take what I find helpful or useful and continue on my journey of knowledge.

Everyone walks their own path. Finding something or someone interesting and sharing for another to make up their own mind is not a wrong thing. Asking a great question does not diminish in value if the seeker has not the answer. I leave it to @logical to decide to check out the source or not.

Yeah this one is **REAL MURKY.** But still a fun rabbit hole. I am not great on sources just force feeding my brain data and letting it swirl around up there and come to a logical conclusion. IMO The Sirius Star system has a white dwarf in it. Whether there was possibly another star that went supernova, or the current white dwarf shed much of it's mass producing a Huge amount of LIGHT that could be seen from earth, I am unsure of. But It seems logical that this event could have happened during Human Existence on Earth. And that Humans could have witnessed this "New Temporary Star" A new star in the sky is a very rare and notable event to ancient humans who had nothing to do but stargaze at nighttime. Therefore tracking the location of where the new star was and how it was orbiting along with other stars seems very likely. Especially since the New Star then disappeared. This was probably the Biggest news of the day to earlier Humans. If your whole culture revolves around the Sun and the Stars being worshipped. A Star Appearing than Disappearing could have been interpreted as a Message from God or a higher power. Meaning they should track the movement of the invisible star by traditions and pass this knowledge down to their children. Now where the Dogon got this knowledge from who knows, from Egyptians? from Europeans?, or maybe They are even more ancient than the Egyptians? Unless We have an Edgar Cayce floating around here I don't think we will know. @heather I still don't have the Answer but I have my own hypothetical conclusions.

Yeah it's really hard to discern why or where they obtained this knowledge. But I also feel like, it would be kind of strange that the **one thing** they learned from early European explorers who made contact with them was Look at this one specific star system. And not like, how to make soap or something more useful to them in the present. I really don't know what to think about the Dogon.

well said, Lot's of dots to draw the dogon to the mandingo though, african tribes are so difficult to lock down who is who and where they split off from and when. I gave my more detailed hypothesis in a response to your other comment btw. You make a great point about white people just trying to look for "Magic"!!

They got the knowledge from extraterrestrials. Occam’s razor mad this pretty much the only remotely logical conclusion. The idea that aliens are all hoaxes or made up theory is a psyop.

All these old cultures who had astronomical info only pointed to a handful of different star systems, including the Sirius mentioned

I think I've heard of something along the lines of: A real long time ago one of the stars in the sirius system Went Supernova so it would have been visible to Humans on Earth for a period of time. Then disappearing again, which made early human astronomers took note of the star probably suspecting a significant importance to it. Since it's very far and few inbetween for "New Stars" or "Stars to disappear" from the night sky if you remain in a geographic location. Probably wasn't a lot for early humans to do at night time other than star gaze...
