We have as a nation and people carried the world since the end of WWII and you are right it is time that we focused on US more! You cannot take care of others if you cannot take care of yourself.  
I was at the mechanic's yesterday and the channel they had the TV on (the most popular local channel, which plays junk all day long) had Judge Judy on and the woman admitted to JJ that she received, without earning $600, over $11K in tax refund for EICs and stimulus handouts!!! That is a lot of what is wrong in this country. Don't get me wrong, I would be for (as long as it's healthier) all meals be free for all students at school without prejudice and even provide all students with what they need for school again without prejudice. But the parents that cannot pay into the system should not get huge checks back from the system, when she was already getting at least SNAP (her words not mine).  
I want each and every nation to be as strong and independent as they can be, without hurting other nations and then to work together in partnerships with other nations for the areas that they are lacking in. And we need to stop calling people that believe in their nations and want their nations healthy "Far Right Extremist"!!!

To the Marshall Plan, I do believe that historic act played into Trump's Tariff Action!  
You know what, though, I am tired of people screaming about that is "another" tax on the "regular American people". Tariffs are the way we funded the federal government up to 1913. The Constitution allowed for a tax (that was done as an income tax of 1% for any income over $800) to pay off wartime debts, but not for "forever taxes". That was why the 16th Amendment had to be enacted.  
Tariffs are applied to imports, they are to level the internal playing field for American companies, especially new and or small companies, to able to compete with VERY CHEAP imports from other countries. Thus, by having tariffs on products we allow for Americans to build companies and compete and hire more Americans to good paying jobs.  
Also, again the corporate media is lying to the American public by implying that no other country has tariffs at all, that again just like slavery this is a uniquely American Crime Against the world, when it is a very common thing.  
Americans have to make a choice. Do you want a bunch of CHEAP crappy things just to have a bunch of things, with no hope of having enough entry level and good paying jobs here? Or do we want to have a level market for American companies to make good quality items and provide good paying jobs? I want the later not the former; AND if that means that I am going to pay a little more for the import until an American alternative gets going, I am happy to do so. But I do not believe that own more things is a good thing at all.
