Addendum: As Hughes suggests, most of the experiences we have that change our lives leave us without words. As such, I’m thinking I talk too much and am going to fast from talking. I am going to spend one hour a day intentionally not thinking in words and speaking words.

How in the heck? Are you going to think in abstract forms? How would you think about a dog without using the term dog, or how humans define things in todays world? Lets say you never learned the words for things in the world such as a tree when you were a child. How would you relate a tree to another human? Or defining a UFO. Interesting topic... Hopefully the "not" thinking goes well for you, the only way I can turn my brain off is with a plant....

Some people are visual thinkers, its why symbolism works so well. Some think in numbers my Sister as an example will ties events together with ratios and she doesn't even realize that she does it. Language for it's amazing ability to connect us, is a serious limitation and almost a cage at a certain level of thought.

Exactly. I like to drown out the world with music all the time. I don't think. I don't speak. I just feel.

It's akin to meditation, I think. I'm committed to not using words for an hour a day, is all I was saying. All I want to do is stop myself from going to words to communicate first and foremost. To stop automatically thinking with words and just experiencing things first. Words are limiting. I'm committed to the feelings, the images, the impressions first and foremost before labeling them and then categorizing, classifying, judging them. Hope that makes sense.

Interesting question! I thought it was simple to answer at first but it’s taken me a while to think. If words are from God, that has implications. If not, there are different implications. I think God spoke all creation into existence. I think He is The Word so words are glorious and perfect. How we, mankind, use them, however, is a different story. I think they came to us from above and have been corrupted by below. In between, I think it’s better to say less sometimes so as to be precise and careful. 🤷♀️

"*If words are from God..*." While everything is from God, "The Word" is Jesus; & also the Bible. Words used by us, w/out inspiration, are just words, a means of communication. In general, short of disagreements, it seems to me that as long as there is goodwill & dialogue, misunderstood words can be easily clarified. Unfortunately, goodwill isn't guaranteed🙄: "*The heart is deceitful above all things, & desperately wicked: who can know it?*" (**Jeremiah 17:9**)

Words give you the framework of which to build your perspective on. Most people's framework in their minds was fed to and forced upon them. Most people are incapable of understanding the world because their framework gets in the way of truth. Most people exist in a sort of hypnotized state because the sensory of their environment is in a constant state of excitement, never allowing their thoughts to slow down and for their mind to return to their framework to reexamine it. Most people are stuck in this loop.

Thanks for adding your two cents---much appreciated. I agree; the "framework" is of the utmost importance and the purpose of communication takes a back seat. Apparently, according to Braven, a lot of this can be avoided by learning Korean. Wanna join me? lol

I'm actually finding that the language fits my mouth pretty naturally. I wish I had more time to devote towards studies; soon, hopefully.

cough cough...I hope I did not give that impression.😅 Not sure learning Korean would do that....but it might.....I wasn't going there with this. You have the most interesting insights. My aim was to suggest that the Korean *alphabet* would be a good starter pattern, a good basic, for a new language. Not the Korean language itself. Past the alphabet, I find it as arbitrary as English. And here we are. Something like that. Peace.😇
