I used to hold the idea that your religion preaches terrorism and rape. As I travelled across the muslim world, I learned that was not the case. I think fellow christians need to realize that the islam forbids rape the same way we do but sometimes people regardless of their religion succumb to temptation. We shouldn't judge a religion when their followers make a mistake. Us christians have a fair share of deviants too.

That's the thing, there are bad apples in every group and Islam is no different. However, the problem is that anytime a muslim commits a crime or does something inappropriate, media rushes to connect it with Islam and tries it's best to highlight the person's religion, race (if he is non white) and nationality (if he or his parents are not from the west). One can only imagine how much of a problem it will become if they did the same with school shootings in US & drone strikes on civilians by US and connected them with Christianity; or paedophilia ring leaders with Judaism; or people conduction child sacrificing rituals with Hinduism. Judge a religion by it's scriptures, not by it's followers, for the followers are humans, and humans are imperfect.

Yeah it's like thinking just because an officer is found guilty of police brutality, suddenly not only 1 precinct but all police departments in the entire country are the same. That's unreasonable. I mean we do have a huge problem with police corruption and the culture which enables it but you get my example. I mean at the end of the day we both believe in the creator of the heavens and the earth, we believe that jesus christ is the messiah and we believe in carrying out good deeds while shunning evil for we are all going to be held accountable in the Day of Judgement. Christians and muslims shouldn't be at each others throats. In the end we're all going to return to our creator anyway.
