no i get your point (it's pretty common) cliche natural law or extreme libertarian argument heard time and again, which in itself is just another utopian fantasy to end discussions...  
  
seems like this is one instance where the legal remedy came through for this long-dead old lady's family - Obviously at some level you have to acknowledge some level of social hierarchy and organization must exist. Adamant as I am about 2a and the U.S. constitution, No one's going to come save our rights %%if we give dunce caps%% to the few people willing to push back when assholes in government or in corporate go too far. Shaming the few people willing to stand up for themselves (whether you like them or not) isn't helpful.

However, that's how America operates. We have imperfect business and justice systems and thus depend on imperfect legal and gov systems for some limited redress.

Are you in the 2a community? Our society is a balance between those that complain, and those that don't complain... and if you have rights you don't exercise we end up having victims like Dexter Taylor, and entire regions of country like Coastal WA, CA, MA, OR, NJ, NYC, etc
