Oh good distinction I didn't know about! Thanks for clarifying. One potential candidate for the religious false prophet could be whoever comes after the current Pope Francis imo (who is dying from kidney failure). https://www.politico.eu/article/pope-francis-legacy-death-complex-italy-rome-health/ Others think Francis might be the last pope altogether based off the prophecies of St. Malachy and St. Nilus (https://qr.ae/pYzRM9). But most scholars consider those 2 forgeries and neither have been approved by the Church.

Very high chance the false prophet is the next pope. The false prophet will work all sorts of miracles and mislead people. But modern science also could be seen as partly religious/miraculous. The false prophet will be able to call fire down from heaven. Frankly Elon Musk can call fire down from heaven at this point.
