It's interesting that the book of Revelation mentions both an antichrist type figure and also a separate false prophet. They are mentioning specific 2 separate people as they are later thrown into the lake of fire. So there will be a religious false prophet and also a political king taking the stage. Revelation 19:20 NKJV \[20\] Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Oh good distinction I didn't know about! Thanks for clarifying. One potential candidate for the religious false prophet could be whoever comes after the current Pope Francis imo (who is dying from kidney failure). https://www.politico.eu/article/pope-francis-legacy-death-complex-italy-rome-health/ Others think Francis might be the last pope altogether based off the prophecies of St. Malachy and St. Nilus (https://qr.ae/pYzRM9). But most scholars consider those 2 forgeries and neither have been approved by the Church.

Very high chance the false prophet is the next pope. The false prophet will work all sorts of miracles and mislead people. But modern science also could be seen as partly religious/miraculous. The false prophet will be able to call fire down from heaven. Frankly Elon Musk can call fire down from heaven at this point.
