I lean towards us being Revelation 20 in the little time satan is released after the 1000 years he is bound. The Futurist eschatology assumes Jesus and the disciples were either wrong or lied. And we know that's not true. So what comes next will be more deception until the Gog and Magog war which results in fire reigning down from heaven.  
  
We can either interpret the Bible through the lens the deceivers who run this world and what they've told us have created. Or we can pull things back and interpret our current world through the lens of the Bible. They use the book of revelations to keep Christians distracted always jumping at every sign that pops up (like you are doing).

Based on what you said that sounds like Herbert Illigs theory of phantom time, I forget the exact dates but it's like 614 ~ 917 AD i think. That theory although touching upon a very real topic, issue, and evidence, is incorrect. Another scholar, Gunnar Heinsohn who actually was a college and wrote papers with Illig has since gone away from that theory and pushed another one based primarily on archaeology and stratigraphy dating. And is supported by Dendrochronology (tree ring dating) as well. Strong evidence.

The whole 13 month thing I'm not well versed in but I heard something along the lines that it was so all the months were the same number of days, on a lunar calendar. And then there was a 13 month sorta like how we have leap days every 4 (might be wrong) years. But like I said, I haven't looked into it super in-depth so don't take my word for it. And that would still mean if we are figuring out chronology without that in mind, our calculations would be wrong so still could/would cause issues.
