Highlighting the Preview & Draft System on Soj.ooO

TY, Logical. I didn't think to use Preview b/c I thought it was already WYSIWYG. Asterisks show up (1^st^ screenshot); &amp; I wondered if it had to do w/formatting.  Following is a screenshot of them appearing, seemingly for no reason. I followed it by re-typing the text both with &amp; without formatting; &amp; then added a screenshot of the Preview👁. Since you inspired me to investigate, I looked at everything with "Markdown," the option under WYSIWYG: It showed other oddities, including adding a space between non-formatted sentences.  
  
In the end, I don't know if the regular text, including the above paragraph, will appear as I typed it. I'm ignorant when it comes to coding; but maybe you can figure it out! This first, a screenshot of a post that had asterisks added:

I format so those who won't read my long posts might at least see key points. Any insights would be welcome!

Yeah so markdown is a simple language used on forums/chat sites etc.  So I would just avoid that If I was you, unless you want to learn how the codes work.  So when you are in markdown mode certain symbols or symbols combined with words trigger different formatting styles.  
  
Currently the WYSIWYG editor is not completely true.  It misses some things at times, but preview catches most of these mistakes.  Preview it also a good reminder to re-read before posting.   
  
Currently when you copy and paste text into the rich text editor, it will double space and put a line break between copied text, and the preview function and WYSIWYG does not do a great job of displaying that yet.  
  
for example:  
  
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.  
  
This block of text will be double spaced even though it doesn't appear to be in preview or WYSIWYG because i copy pasted it from somewhere else.   
  
There are a few bugs this is still beta, and the Rich Text Editor isn't perfect, adding photos and some formatting can cause bugs.  I'm sure they will be ironed out eventually.  For now I find it works the best to use WYSIWYG and avoid using excessive symbols like \*/-\`~ and always hitting preview if what I am posting is important.    
  
Pictures, especially depending on which method you use to add the pictures can cause random issues, deleting text or other pictures.  Preview function usually catches the errors caused by them at this point though.  
  
if you are encountering the same bug over and over please post in p/pre-launch to bring it to the devs attention.
