I think ultimately it will be feasible as railway or tram. Another idea of renting car with centralized parking system. This car can be used as swiped system along with proper maintanance system. Although, there is one cons that it will be shared property or public property and security will prefered over privacy. However, inter city or province travel through gateway which can go outside the range of surveillance. It has its own challenge. Since AI is we can simply request car in any reachable point. I don't want to rely on AI I would prefered pickup point is designed with proper infrastructure outside human habital zone.

the transportation is needed in the first place because zoning regulations for these centrally planned 30-50 year development project is so fucked... if you look back in history to how organically older municipalities evolved from Eastern antiquity to the Wild West they didnt have "city planners" but people were able to get what they needed withing a walk or trollop on a beast of burden... in the modern era even in NJ the most densely packed state in country people have to drive 45 minutes at min 45mph to access goods and services at 90s style strip & shopping malls, which would've taken 2 weeks 50 years earlier
