This hits differently after my recent trip to [Funspot](https://www.funspotnh.com/), where I competed in the 10th annual classic video game tournament back in 2008. Funspot also has the Pac-Man cabinet associated with the first perfect game, and the place is part of the classic arcade culture captured in [*The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters*](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0923752/).  You really do start seeing these games as systems rather than just games: patterns, timing, routes, scoring and risk. **Funspot:** where “learn the system that produces the game” becomes very literal.
