OK, friend. I tried. I tried to pull you out of that quagmire. You will never have another chance this big, in talking to me, as self-aggrandizing as I am. All you had to do is change your mind. Maybe you will someday. Don't wait until its too late.

Well, I'd offer you the same deal, but we both know you're only getting worse. Wish I could help you, but I know already I can't. I'm a self aware narcissist. You're not self aware. Just a malignant narcissist unable to look in the mirror of your psyche, the shattered relationships of the people you've consumed over a lifetime scattered behind like victims of a drunk driver who refuses to dry out. I don't really blame you. You came up hard and were taught that aggression was the winning strategy at every turn. Your dad didn't know any way to treat you other than the way he did, your mom was essentially a non-entity and just about every authority figure in your life could scarcely even be bothered to pretend they weren't corrupt. Or at least that's how you saw it. I'm wasn't better than you. I just survived a more fortuitous upbringing. Now and then I encountered people who actually believed what they said they believed, who tried to do the right thing as best they could. And I had the good, the fantastically good fortune to be accused of assaulting someone I didn't even know when I was still a young child. That taught me that people will just flat out make up crazy accusations when they're hurting, looking for someone, anyone to blame their problems on. It's been over half a century of watching people and looking for what makes them tick, but I've got a fairly good handle on it. What people don't understand is that you're not acting like a jackass because you suppose you're great. You're doing it because you think you're a POS and you're trying to convince yourself you're not. You seek out confrontation to get someone to either confirm that validation or to be vanquished to demonstrate your superiority. But, it's hollow. You just can't get that genuine internal self worth that ordinary people have. I know, because I know what it is to chase it. I laugh at my own quest for external validation as I laugh at yours. The difference is that I know what's going on and you don't. You're too far gone. So, you just have as much joy as you're capable of having for however fleeting a bit of time you can have it. It will be something like a miracle if you can overcome this, but I've seen at least some lesser miracles and while I'll definitely bet against it, I'll also be pulling for you. I don't think it's impossible. Take care. I won't respond to you again.
