In stead of generic taxes, forcing people save into a special account for retirement, unemployment, medical care etc seems a good way to make funds unavailable for other things. That way politicians don't have to wonder what to spend your money on. https://www.reddit.com/r/CapitalismVSocialism/comments/1kviohh/successful_socialism/ It seems an interesting idea to put a persons taxes into a named account and show them their individual transactions. I've seen people upset over things funded by governments that cost them such a tiny amount of money it's not worth complaining about. The account can show withdraws like an annual 5 euro for the Euro Parliamentarians and another 5 for the King, 200 for Ukraine, 3 euro for weapons research in Israel etc Maybe give people the option to block payments, if the amount blocked exceeds 100 euro they can explain in court why they did that. Perhaps an option to pay more for things they think important. Then politicians only have to wonder what to spend the remaining money on. If there is no 5 euro for the King in my account they can just take it from the next guy.
