So your god wrote a book that you need to find an explanation from in another book? Which parts of the Bible do you believe in and why? You don't believe in Jesus being gods son, but you trust and believe other aspects of the book? Why? How does your brain do the mental gymnastics to "make" these things "fit like a puzzle"?

Hey! Glad you asked. I studied the bible in my teens and I still do now, at times. Even as a kid I knew intuitively that it was flawed because some things just didn't make sense or they didn't sit right with my heart. I'm sure you and everyone else has those feelings. Plus, even the church says its "devinely inspired", which is essentially an admission that its written by humans. And humans err. So there are definitely faults in it, but that doesn't necessarily make it all false. Some facts are definitely true for which we have archeological and documentary evidence from Persian and Roman sources. Theologically, I couldn't accept the concept of trinity, or God having a son, or the idea of three godheads being part of the same God, etc. To me, if there was a God, it would have to be one. Assigning family and associates was too similar to pagan concepts of polytheism where dieties have families and friends. I read the Quran in my 40s as a non-religious, somewhat blasphemous Agnostic, though I did lean towards the idea of a higher power. And it spoke to my heart and made sense to me. And I believe it to be the direct word of God, as it claims to be. Not everyone will believe it to be, but it's kind of sad that many don't even test it to judge the truth for themselves. Anyway, to me the theology made sense and it contained some information and facts that must have come from a higher power. And it's too perfectly composed for an illiterate man or even a computer to invent, because of the ring structures, the word count miracles, lexical nuances etc. So I believe in the Quran 100% as the direct word of God, uncorrupted and unchanged by human interference. And the Quran explains the inconsistencies of the Bible perfectly. I belive that holy books, containing the direct word of God, similar to the Quran, were given to Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus before the Quran. All of which contained the same message that there is only one creator, that life is a temporary trial and these are the rules, along with some rules and historical information for teaching purposes. However, each time these books were lost or edited by successive human scribes, rabbis and monks for their personal gain, influence and empowerment. This successive editing of the Torah (old testament), Psalms and New Testaments have left them a corrupted shadow of their originals. And thats why we find so many theological and factual inconsistencies, morally challenging interpretations, obvious copy pasting editing of the Q-code etc. All these facts mean that I'm skeptical about the information in the bible, but I do still quote it as a reference. This is for those that believe it and also for those that are smart enough to see links, even if they are corrupted. I won't go into derails but here's just one short example. Bible and Quran both say the world was created in 6 days. But the church has always said this is 6 literal earth days and God rested on the 7th day. Quranic version is not 6 earth days, but 6 periods or 6 stages and Quran says clearly that God was does not tire or need rest. That fits my personal concept of God much better.
