Oh definitely! In fact, as a teen, 30 odd years ago, and long before I accepted religion, I had theories on all these things. My loguc was simple, if it took 5000 years for us to evolve from slings and spears to a point where we could wipe out humanity with nukes, then a 200,000 year history of homo sapiens meant that process could happen a few times over, at least. And if a few people survived the massive nuclear holocaust or meteor strike, they might have to live deep in caves to escape the radiation and could probably repopulate steadily and pass down stories of planes, space travel, computers etc. However, they wouldn't have the means to make any of that. Like even if I placed you and your family in the Amazon for the next century, you probably couldn't make nayhting more than a tree house maybe, given a lack of tools and electricity and metals etc. Todays civilization would probably sound like myths and legends to your grandkids living in caves or deserted islands, forced to live off agriculture, based on limited tools they would have to innovate. And 1000 years down the line, if they saw a remnant of our civilization, it would probably be the damn pyramids again 🤣 simply coz stone is so much more durable than concrete that crumbles or iron that rusts. Maybe a few other structures too, and they'd wonder how the hell they got made too. Decades later I discover that's exactly the scenario described in Islam. That after the second coming of Jesus and the defeat of the anti-christ, there will be decades of peace under the rule of Jesus, but eventually there will come a time when something will cause most people to die, knowledge to be lost and future generations will again live like animals and only have a faint memory of their forefathers saying "no god but God" but they won't even know what that phrase means. So the end of our civilization sounds a lot like the dawn of history as we understand it today
