I've largely left American media, independent and mainstream. The few channels I do follow that are "Independent" are conspiracist (right wing) and left wing Socialist/Marxist. You can hate the conspiracist on the far right, or the Marxist Leninist but they are vital because they will put fourth the strongest arguments for their positions while most are struggling to stay within the Algorithms good graces. My favorite right wing is "Really Graceful" My favorite left wing is "MidWesternMarx"

I think what were talking about here is more of an effect of the confusion of words, rather than an attack on 'debate' The problem much like many other words, the term "Debate" has become synonymous with "Reality TV show spectacle of argument" and not what the literal term means. This is a common tactic whereas lots of words have lost their meaning in the last decade or so. "Woman" "Racist" "Nazi" "Sexist" "Feminism" "Rape" I mean the list is endless, words simply have no meanings in many contexts now based on liberal ideology. Words have lost this context. "Debate" has become something where it's an event based on 2 influential talking heads smearing each other and avoiding factual information. debate /dĭ-bāt′/ intransitive verb To consider something; deliberate. To engage in argument by discussing opposing points. To engage in a formal discussion or argument. synonym: discuss. (Obsolete) To fight or quarrel. To deliberate on; consider. To dispute or argue about. To discuss or argue (a question, for example) formally. For centuries in western culture we had honest "Debates" in many contexts to determine outcomes scientifically or politically etc. Now it is a Reality TV Show style spectacle that segments people onto 1 side or the other to continue the 2 party system. Everything is politicized and there is no area left for "Debate".
