'Forbid Evil' is a theme under 'Invite to Good' (invite to what pleases God). Otherwise you require "Enforcers". Islam according to the [Quran](https://soj.ooo/p/onecreatorgod/post/7d0c648430c151743ce894da56ec5a88) places emphasis on No Compulsion in Religion. Find one verse from the Quran that breaks this abovementioned principle? We can only (righteously) force ourselves not others, ban things for ourselves, not others (to remain peaceful). #Quran chp 2 ver 256 There shall be **no compulsion in religion**: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient. chp 3 ver 104 Let there be a community of you who **invite** to what is good, advocate righteousness, and **forbid** evil. These are the winners.

"We can only ban things for ourselves" I'm talking within the context of a proper Islamic caliphate set in the Muslim world, not that we hijack Western countries and force Sharia in right-wing propaganda style, if that's your concern. But within the Islamic nation, you *can* enforce. Forbid evil is not a theme under invite good, they are two distinct commands. Consider murder. Is that banned for Muslims only, or for everyone? Well within a Muslim nation, evil also includes things like distributing explicit material. If you're a non-Muslim minority... follow the law. The no compulsion verse means you cannot force anyone to convert, and yes there are provisions allowing minorities to govern themselves in accordance to their own scriptures. But this doesn't make the Islamic system akin to the western model where no morality beyond that which causes immediate harm is upheld. It's because of the Islamic system that the Muslim ummah (back when it was united) did not get compromised. And it's on this basis that when we see corruption, we should consider it our fault for adopting an ineffective system (western liberalism) instead of blaming Jewish people.

I do not believe in morality police or support the Saudi government. Enforcing doesn't mean giving power to a centralized authority to fish out random people they believe are doing something wrong. But there are standards in Islam that allow you to stop organized public immorality. As an example - banning pride parades. Cutting nudity out of R rated movies is also something I'd support. I think we have different things in mind when referring to "enforcing" but I'm grateful you brought this up so no one thinks this is what I'm talking about.
