I enjoyed strength training and powerlifting in the 2000s when starting strength and 5x5 training dominated the online scene. I didn't get any significant injuries but organically stopped caring about 1 rep max strength in my late 30s and instead wanted to look like a (natural) bodybuilder. Now I don't do the Big 3 or under 8 reps at all. Huge improvements in abs, forearms, biceps, neck, lats, traps, calves, and shoulders. I do a Natural Hypertrophy inspired Upper-Lower split. https://www.boostcamp.app/programs for free and paid program ideas. I recommend Geoffrey Schofield, Natural Hypertrophy, and Basement Bodybuilding for programs and informative youtube videos for former or "recovering" strength trainees.
