Thing is, would anybody besides the peasants go for your suggestion now? I guarantee nobody in the House, Congress, Senate would ever volunteer for that. And they know the people don't and never will have power in the system they live in.

Yes buy anybody actively campaining with live stream and pushing that kind of platform for midterm/endterm election would gain a lot of visibility. The mainstream media will likely try to trash it but it's the game. We need courageous and clever heroes.
