Some high level overlord at fb explained after he quit that ENGAGEMENT is strongest if subjects are exposed to their personal most disagreeable content. If you mention stepping in dog poop one time you are subscribed for life to the dog poop feed. He said it was nothing short of the engineering of a civil war.
