"Not all Muslims". Well bravo. Makes no difference. It's not the case that a Muslim here or there adheres to these practices, though obviously that absolutely could not happen if the Quran were genuinely the source of all wisdom and goodness. The problem is that practices which YOU present as bad are commonplace AS Islamic practices. You want to play? Okay, then. Let's play. You've officially become annoying to me. Sucks to be you. Sacred Cow seems to like sniping at you and other religious types, like an ankle biting Shih Tzu dog. I'm the rabid mastiff. I'll take your legs off and chew on them while you watch. You say you're not Sunni? So? This is a practice throughout the Muslim world and is far more widely practiced in Shia communities than Sunni where it is generally not accepted. The practice originates in YOUR "scholars" interpreting Quran 4:24 to mean that as long as there's a "marriage" the 'law' is satisfied and YOU are not violating it to get "married" for an hour. It IS Islam according to the Quran, because the people who decide whether or not it is have said that it is. YOU don't get to declare their declarations invalid. They get to declare yours invalid and have you killed for disputing them. What exactly do you think "ethics" is? You couldn't understand the term if you're asking for a "better" ethical system, because Islam doesn't have one... at all. That's why it sucks... a lot. Here's the "god's honest truth". I'm slightly more familiar with Islam than... a parakeet. Not a lot more. But some. And I'm willing to bet I'll demonstrate you understand your religion less than I do. Now, let's get into this just a tiny little bit. The amount someone who started studying the question... fifteen minutes ago is capable of bringing to the table. Oooh! Nice table! Butcher block? The Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab is credited with prohibiting the practice while founding the Sunni faith. Which is pretty much exactly the opposite of the case you're presenting by dismissing it as a 'Sunni' practice. To further exacerbate the predicament you find yourself in, Khattab was "reforming" an accepted practice in something like 640 or so, indicating that more than 1400 years ago it was thought "The Quran" allowed for this practice, but the hadith informed otherwise, which honestly creates even more problems for you, not the least of which is that the 'hadith' can override the Quran. There are three different primary hadith relating to this that I could find... again, in about 15 minutes of study. Kitab Al-Nikah: 3263, 3255, 3262 You are of course completely familiar with these hadiths? Regardless, of course you are familiar with: Sahih Muslim, Book 8, Hadith 3250 in which it details that this was allowed under Mohamed but forbidden under the caliphate of Umar. No? Don't know about any of this? Why am I not surprised? I didn't even start yesterday. I started 15 minutes ago. Looks as though knowing more than a squirrel isn't a high bar to jump... unless you're Muslim. Stop worrying about what alternative I might provide. Stop trying to deflect attention away from your position every time you get uncomfortable; which apparently is literally every time someone notices something that would require you to be conversant with YOUR OWN religion. And start figuring out how to present YOUR POSITION as reasonable in your own terms!

I am not Sunni, therefore, Sunni Hadith sources (e.g. Sahih Muslim etc.) are not the foundation of my beliefs. Did the "Christian World" believe Jesus is God or Jesus is the son of God or other?

I have to stop and fix a BIG error on my part which I didn't notice in the first fifteen minutes I spent looking into this, and it's a really big problem for your claims and implications. You're either performing taqiyya or are incredibly ignorant. Roughly 85% of Islam is Sunni. That's most of Islam. The remainder is almost entirely Shia. Only 2-3% of Muslims worldwide fall outside these two groups. The first group you're claiming do practice mutah, though they've explicitly rejected it as a practice through their hadiths which you have explicitly rejected. The Shia, who you've not explicitly rejected DO practice mutah. I've spent half an hour of research into this subject and can now make your case better than you can. A LOT better! Here's YOUR case, made on YOUR behalf: While "mutah" prostitution is a widespread problem in Muslim communities, it has been widely condemned and explicitly outlawed by the majority Sunni (87%) and is not accepted as a social norm even in most Shia controlled regions, including those where it is fully legal under law. It is not unlike prostitution in Christian communities which almost all recognize as a shameful practice, not supported by the Christian religion anymore than it is supported by the Muslim religion. Even in Shia controlled countries where it is fully legal it is still regarded as shameful by most. You've still got a little problem though. You're blaming the Sunni as allowing this practice while their hadiths forbid it. Actually it's a huge problem for you. Because while I'm not really up on all the religious intricacies of how Muslims escape moral complications of British grooming gangs, pedophilia, rampant rape, murder, etc., with my half hour of research. It's a well known phenomenon. And it's well known that it's explicitly an Muslim sourced problem. And don't keep trying to ask some leading question about silly Christian beliefs in an effort to deflect from yours. They don't try to deflect to "what about Islam" if we're interrogating their nonsense. They at least have the honor to argue from their own writings.

Adding to this response: I finally watched the video you threw at me. These two Sunni women are pointing out that their sect does not allow for "mutah". And you're saying you don't agree with them. The reason I usually don't watch videos when people send them to me is because they usually didn't watch them either. I'm really starting to think you're here to make Islam look bad. Trust me, it doesn't need you for that.
