I simply don't understand how it works for females. Jewish lineage is important to Israelis (they keep out Ethiopian jews and other bloodlines), and my understanding is that they track blood through the female line. So I just don't understand how they could accept a female goy who converts as being legitimate, that's all.

I believe there's also a consideration on whether acceptance will strengthen the cause, which in this very case it's undeniable.
