You are clearly far more of a dog whisper than I am. I am just a dude that has had some dogs. I went to school to train personal protection dogs, but I still am not an "expert". I worry all the time about my own dogs running up on someone that might be looking for a reason to kill something. They are good dogs, not pitbulls, but sometimes accidents happen - they can slip a leash, or see something and take off. I live in a very rural area, and will probably always live somewhere far out like this to avoid accidents with people. Crazy or not, if someone shot my dog, it would end my life too because there would be revenge. Rational? Doesn't matter. I am strongly convicted too.

I walk mine off the leash. Makes it easy for them not to be aggressive, dogs in general are social creatures. "It would end my life too because there would be revenge" What are you implying? You would go kill a person for shooting your dog? What if its justified? Seems a bit extreme to possibly go to jail for your entire life because of a dog. Have you been in jail? It sucks...maybe you should do a short trip so you understand. Not being funny in saying that, it was an eye opening experience.

The goal is to never have to worry about it, responsibly stewarding the dogs that depend on me. I'd rather not dwell on what could happen if there is a mistake by me or someone else. The best thing is to stay away from people. I like this isolation.
