**Clarification\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** I understand this poor old woman poured coffee on herself and suffered serious burns. I choose not to weaponize empathy. My point here is to show everyone that legal precedent and regulation is harmful to society, and possibly the end of civilization. Do you **Carry a thermostat** around with you at all times when ordering coffee? How will you %%prove%% the temperature of the coffee you've spilled onto yourself was **"Too Hot"** and who decides what is "Too Hot" This McDonalds had been using the same coffee maker for years with no issue. 1 Problem occurs, and now we have a system where you can still burn yourself from McDonalds coffee and not sue. **An employee** can still make a %%mistake%%, the %%coffee machine%% can still **malfunction**, you can **still burn** yourself with coffee. But you can no longer sue McDonalds unless you carry a thermostat, and document yourself receiving the coffee and using an accurate thermostat to measure its temp. *Why?* **Government Regulation** and legal **precedent**. Now unless you can PROVE that the coffee was "Irregularly hot" how could you defend yourself against being burned? This event began a cascading set of bubble wrapping of society and anti-freedom regulations. At least in my opinion. and of course, just take accountability for your mistakes, not blame McDonalds lol. The kid should have been helping his grandma with the coffee it's not worth millions of dollars and the degradation of society. The McDonalds franchise owner should have been more understanding and helpful with the old ladies medical bills. But I ask anyone if you were a Franchise owner of a local small business McDonalds, and some lady came in asking for $20,000 after she spilt coffee on herself, what would your response be? Where does the bubble wrapping of society end? and obviously i am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice, why would you try to get legal advice on a shitpost 🤣 ^ps dont eat McDonalds either way lol^
