I interviewed David Carmichael.. the father of Abigail Carmichael Jordan on this very topic! David Carmichael had a almost full career in the Navy, he had one re-enlistment to go, before he would collect a full retirement package from the U. S. Navy. And it was in his latter years and just prior to this re-enlistment that he had some religious issues with the Social Security number in particular, and he—based on those reasonings—where he felt like the Social Security number and birth certificate were— Basically the mark of the beast. And so— He refused to re-enlist using his Social Security number, to which he was told that he would. No longer be able to continue with the Navy without it, even though they previously already had it. His entire career, he used that number with every re-enlistment, with every need where they justified him surrendering or giving it to them. He refused on his religious grounds, and they let him go. He fought this; he sued both the Department of Defense and he sued also the U. S. Navy. And it took him a few years to get a victory, but he did get a victory. And he was awarded a large settlement from both the Department of Defense and the U. S. Navy. This segues into the story of Abigail Carmichael Jordan, his daughter. Because he raised her from the time she was born without attaching her to the Social Security number or the birth certificate. She later in life, as an adult. Felt that. Her missionary work is a divine calling. She felt like this was a religious obligation for her to spread the word of. Christianity around the world. And she was negatively impacted by the fact that she didn't have either a birth certificate or a Social Security number. She tried to acquire the passport so that she could travel, and be a missionary. And she was declined. And she fought this over a period of six years and she won— A battle in the DC District Supreme Court. And she was able to get her passport without a birth certificate without a Social Security number and without an LNR. Letter of no record, I believe, is what that means. I forget in detail, but nonetheless, she was successful in getting the. Her nationality and citizenship. Secured and her passport, more importantly, Through the religious freedom restoration act, the RFRA.

I'm very grateful for your reply. It confirms an idea we have come upon. I didn't know that an LNR was unnecessary -- which is helpful because we are trying to avoid the bureaucrats at the Birth death marriages office. I will watch the video and learn. Cheers a million for your actual input and work.

David Carmichael, the father of Abigail Jordan, and I still communicate. Perhaps one day, I’ll have him post something or conduct a video interview on some of these matters. Abigail’s case succeeded because RFRA required the government to justify its passport-document rules, and the court found those rules were not the least restrictive means of achieving the government’s goal in her situation. Good luck and best wishes to you!
