I mostly enjoy all creation, maybe minus the ticks, but domesticated animals do mostly depend on humans for survival, even though some do quite well in their feral state.

I believe humans exist for humans; not animals. Animals do not necessarily exist for humans, but animals should be treated based on what's best for humans, not animals. Animals certainly do not think that they exist for man's happiness; they exist for themselves. Whether humans think does not matter to them, other than in the matters of their own desires. If it's in their interest to abuse humans, they certainly will. Why should human go out of their way to treat animals as if they are our equals when they certainly don't care about humans?

I agree humans should come first. But acting in our own long-term best interest actually means treating many animals with respect. Nature is a delicate balance, and messing with it will create poor outcomes. Animals live for themselves and follow instincts, they’re not moral agents. But, many are capable of forming real bonds. “Abuse” is a loaded word... providing for an animal while benefiting from it isn’t the same as cruelty. Animals aren’t malicious, they’re blunt and instinct-driven, which makes coexistence easier/simpler. Respecting them doesn’t mean treating them as equals. It’s just smart and often enjoyable stewardship. One mostly enjoys what one cares about.

Not necessarily; would you let bears/wolf packs/nasty pitbulls move into your neighborhood, and get 'comfortable'? You know what's going to happen; it's going to be their neighborhood, not yours. Some animals, such as bears/wolf packs/nasty pitbulls don't believe in peaceful coexistence, just like some people. To them, you are one of these 4: 1. a toy they can manage anytime on demand, 2. a potential food source 3. a potential threat they can manage 4. a potential threat they cannot manage. The notion that all living beings are supposed in tune with each other in harmony is New Age non-sense. Why is it okay to kill cows/pigs/chickens to eat, but not dogs? The people who love their happy meals/steaks/bacons, but aghast at eating dogs are unwitting hypocrites. What's so special about dogs compared to other animals? Because they look cute? How shallow! Other than pigs, no other animals eat their own youngs, except dogs, no matter how hungry. I often showed them videos of dogs eating their own puppies, or attacking their own puppies, because of resource guarding instincts. These doggy crazies were up in arms, in outrage against me; they couldn't dispute my findings, they could not handle the truth. So, they resorted to censorship.
