This is the exact verse of the Quran about the crucifixion. God is clear Jesus was not crucified while the jews thought he was.  How this was done is not 100% clear. Some think that Jesus was whisked away, body and soul, while his main rivals faces was distorted to look like his to the witnesses and it was his chief accuser that was suffered the crucifixion. Some believe this means that his soul was raised and his rivals soul was put into his body. It could even mean that the roman commander pulled a switcheroo and crufied someone else and told the jews they'd crucified Jesus. To be honest the exact methodology is a bit of a non-issue for me. For me the greater lessons are: \- God, in his mercy, saved jesus from suffering \- God wants you to know that you can be wrong despite what your eyes and witnesses tell you. In other Quran and Prohets quotes we're told that Jesus is up in heaven right now as well and he will return in the end times to lead the believers to victory against the anti-christ. So yes, he is an immaculate, miraculous soul from a virgin giving birth, someone who can perform miracles and he has a very very special role.
