resolutionaryman: For me, the anchor is what’s in the text: the Quran’s “no compulsion” principle, and passages like Quran 2:62 that point to God’s concern being sincerity and righteousness rather than coercion or forcing people into a label. So even if Muhammad or Jesus may have pushed at times, I don’t take that as a mandate for us to do so. I don't disagree. However, there are many layers to chp 2 ver 62.
