I have read there was a time in history when a "peasant" only had to work 14 weeks a year to feed, clothe, house and care for a family. (i have since forgotten the source)

IIRC that was gatherings wild grain for bread for a whole year. Larger fruits and hunting is easier but you can't preserve it easily. What do you think? Breeding rabbits is a lot of work? Where would you even find food for one! Amirite?
