@matt how does muting conversations help people(like me and everyone else in this discussion)? WE WANT TO HAVE CONVERSATIONS! Not mute them. Muting a USER on an INDIVIDUAL E2E basis will solve our issue. Like that kOzMo duche, he doesn’t even have any posts, he’ll just interject himself into a random conversation because he wants to kill the topic of discussion, tell me how that aligns with the principles of soj.ooO? You made the mute conversation button for the people that complain, now can you help out the people that actually contribute to the platform? I spent days of my life on here, these assholes spent a grand total of 30mins and don’t even have the decency to make a single post or join a Pocha, c’mon @matt what’s the deal?

I'll say that while individual user muting may or may not be a thing we see implemented, I'd recommend a different approach. First, I don't think the whole "I spend more time here, so I deserve X" is a strong strategy. That kind of defeats the purpose of the website. It's for everyone. No matter if you spend days here, or minutes here. There's no catering to or special treatment for early adopters. All feedback is welcome. Focus on the logistical benefits, less on the entitlement. Second, in the meantime, I'd recommend simply ignoring / not engaging with the content / users you don't wish to. The whole point is that the more "popular" stuff gets "bumped" to the top. So if a user comment or post sucks, just ignore it, and it will naturally be phased out. By calling attention to it, you're only perpetuating the issue you're trying to avoid.

@felbz don’t make me out to be entitled, THAT WAS NOT MY POINT! I never said I deserved anything, but I think that people who DON’T contribute to the platform %%should not have a say in how it’s moderated%%. I won’t accept that. And I AM focusing on the logistical benefits, don’t make me out to be some asshole, like I haven’t made significant logistical contributions to this platform. The last three points on Matt’s ‘How to soj.ooO’ came from %%my input%%. **Not that I want to throw that information around,** but don’t try to tell me I’m acting entitled, I’m FIGHTING for this platform. If we just start trying to appease everyone we’ll be just as fucd as this country currently is and this platform will be short lived at worst and at best utterly mundane.

Mute/block user feature sounds good to me, and better than muting an entire conversation/thread.
