Ba'al and Yahweh didn't like each other cause they were both storm gods. I think the powers that be blame Ba'al for things their god "wants" them to do...

Baal isn't just 'one' god. Its a title like "Hashem" (Adonai) they have the same meaning which is "Lord" Baal Hamman (I think the North African deity) would resemble Saturn. "Adon'is" (adonai) is a Phoenician god that was imported into the Greek system. Its deeper than this but Rusalka would probably be better at the break down of the languages than me. I think a lot of people think of an ancient pantheon as a fixed structure (like modern religion) but it was much more fluid and evolved overtime as gods were added and combined and concepts would change over a few generations.. another one I remember is Baal Zebul (lord of the high place) became beelzebub.. or something along those lines.
