1) I'm familiar enough with how the Pentagon and the MIC operates. 2) Chaos theory (and history confirms) that while preparation is crucial, there's always examples of unpredictable and mostly nuanced decisions in battle that seem to have some sort of "butterfly effect" on the outcome of the war. 3) Serenity prayer helps.
