Thanks for the thoughtful reply. There are absolutely places in Mexico to avoid like every country. I can only speak from my experiences and they have been overwhelmingly positive, but I do use caution. The border is not the place to be for many reasons. And there are red zones to avoid. My wife and I do ask friends and family before visiting other regions. I am not at all advising people to cross the border in your car and wing it. I'm inviting people to join us here, where life is wonderful and none of the above mentioned are issues. Where I live life is peaceful, old ladies and young women walk in the streets at all hours without worry. This is a very child and family friendly place where the people are welcoming and always have smiles on their faces. You are describing the horrors of Mexico and that is just not the reality in the majority of this amazing country. That's why I compare it to the US. The majority of the audience here is there and my offer is to escape a collapsing country where the leaders only care about themselves, in order to experience the opposite. Most problems on this continent are contrived by the banking interests and US government and then managed by the intel agencies that do the footwork. Down here those problems mostly vanish and turn into stories you hear or things you see on tv. That's the point I try to make. Soon Americans will not have any positive options so I feel obliged to share and offer while it is still possible.

\> *"The majority of the audience here is there and my offer is to escape a collapsing country where the leaders only care about themselves, in order to experience the opposite."* So you're saying leaders in Mexico \_don't\_ only care about themselves and are somehow exempt from problems of morality which are inherent to the rest of humanity? Wow, talk about utopia! \> *"Down here those problems mostly vanish and turn into stories you hear or things you see on tv"* It's easier to believe someone when they speak from a place of objectivity. This just doesn't ring objective whatsoever about a place that I and many others know firsthand has problems (as does EVERYWHERE, so not to single out Mexico, who is a beautiful country with wonderful people). That doesn't mean you can't live a good life there. That doesn't mean old ladies can't walk down the street at night and be fine. But to say "problems just vanish" and then invite a bunch of strangers on the internet to come join you in your little utopia sounds... well.... ***Suspicious AF.*** But to each their own. To whoever wants to go run down to Mexico and join this guy in his town that is magically exempt from problems and everything is perfect, go ahead, and let us know how it goes! I know if I found a place devoid of crime where everything was great, the last thing I would do is put an open invite on the internet for a bunch of random people to come join and potentially mess up the very thing that made it safe in the first place. (Unless perhaps I had a different agenda...) But I'm happy you found something that works for you! For me personally, someone who has lived in plenty of countries through out Latin America, Europe, and Asia — I appreciate a more nuanced and objective approach to judging places. Every place has its beauty, but no place is perfect or except from the human condition. Where there are humans, there are the flaws that come with those humans, struggling with their own internal morality and their role in society. I've yet to see a place where that isn't the case, no matter how seemingly safe. But maybe you found the first!

One other thing. I don't consider people here to be complete strangers. We have been brought together because we have similar ways of thinking and similar views of the world we live in. I'm confident anyone interested in my plan would become a friend during the process of building out the property long before we became neighbors.

I again appreciate the reply. You should come down and check it out! It would be my pleasure to show you around. Yes problems exist everywhere. It sucks that yourself and probably most people are so suspicious of anyone who wants to help others. And you have a right to be. We live in a very sad time. You mention the human condition, I feel we are losing that. My motive is as announced. I will be building a self sufficient homestead for my family, with or without others. With others joining in it will be a community instead of a homestead. It will be bigger and better, more self sufficient. It will happen faster, and in my opinion time is running out for most. It will surely be a lot more fun and the options for a group become much greater. Thanks for taking interest.
