Tribalism, for better or worse, I think is the wave of the future. People need things that bind them together, whether it be blood, shared belief, customs, or the need for survival. There are far, far too many humans on this earth to allow a single tribe to rule.

Its not going to be a "tribe" that rules, its going to be a system. And "fighting" and being "oblivious" to it are both going to feed and be a part of it. The only real answer I've been able to come up with is live as though it doesn't exist, don't feed it don't buy in and live as best you can. People don't seem to understand what "the beast" or "the image of the beast" means anymore, to me it means "the system" (a rudderless ship ploughing towards a coast) and "humans within the system" (replaceable soulless components of the ship) This "wave of the future" will pass away too, its all happened before. Socrates took the hemlock rather than stop asking questions, Jesus went to the cross rather than "buy in" to the religious or political machine. Socrates showed people that their "experts" and "leaders" didn't actually know anything, Jesus showed people that the Temple/Empire system was a "whited sepulcher" beautiful on the outside, but full of dead men’s bones. Both of them revealed the "image" of the beast within the men of their days hearts. The lesson I've taken away from both is I'd rather live by my own convictions for a little while, than exist as a dead man in a dead machine.

While I hold both sides of the coin in my heart at times. I too am hypocritical and tribal at times. And I notice the benefits of a purely Tribalistic Hegemony in history and the present. Much of this sentiment is not just tribalism about race, gender, culture etc. It's Class. The have's and the have nots. They divide us plebs via skin color or country of origin. While in reality the clear division is between Class.
