“Exploitation claims are the best ones to make without evidence of what was actually done because they can hide behind the excuse that they of course can't show you the product they're claiming because that would be unseemly.” You make a lot of excellent points-this being the standout to me. I can take the bait as much as the next person so thank you; I’ll be thinking about your whole post for a while. You also touched on some important nuances when discussing the “Moral Majority.” It’s just an issue near and dear to my heart. I’ve known so many girls who were raped and coerced. Boys too. I’m particularly sensitive to any claim. I found out that my mother probably began a relationship with my father, 19, when she was just 12. Even as a kid, hearing that, I felt rage. I don’t know what to say about age of consent laws but I know that most of the time, kids who look and act like kids (not hot actresses) get completely fucked up by adults and if there’s anything I can do to stop that, I will. Even if it’s just shame the ever-loving shit out of a chatbot and its evil mastermind overlord.

I've got a pencil that can draw figures I can claim are little girls engaged in sex acts. Okay, you might not see the resemblance to little girls, or even humans, let alone sex, but it's the guy wielding the pencil, not the pencil. And the guys wielding this particular pencil are the hackers who made it do their bidding. Whatever that actually was. Which we don't know. Because they didn't have to actually provide any evidence. It's just a story. Really. Just a story. You've got to be a little more careful about the stories that slide in around your ordinary skepticism. The more they tell you what you want to be true, the more you should be on the lookout for actual evidence or the lack of it. And I'll remind you. Your dad and mom are real people who really did whatever they did. A fake picture might be closer to accurate than a pencil drawing. But, it's not real life. And in real life my best friend contributed to a fund that hired mercenary groups to free kids from sex slavery in Cambodia. Me getting outraged over some fake pictures just doesn't seem like the same level of involvement in actual solutions.
