My buddy works at a Mercedes dealership and they get in 90's and early 2000's Mercedes on trade ins. They have a couple sweet SL 500's for 10-15k. A 90's E430 is one of the best cars built.

They look nice too, I assume, you're talking about the 2001-04 I think?

Well 2001-04 are not interesting if mileage is important but easy to work on and bulletproof yes. I was talking about the 300h or the 350 2014 models those are hybrid but with good batteries and they are easily changed and relatively cheap. I know hybrids are seen as less than perfect but IS hybrids do a lot right, nowadays its more about lower fuel consumption then before, that is to say in Europe anyway. In France we get 98octane @ around 1,80€/Liter and 95octane 1,70€/Liter both have 10% ethanol content. No idea about petrol prices in the USofA or Canada tho...

Yea it's unfortunate how the EU is trying to ruin cars...toyota hybrids are good in general.

I wouldn't purchase a "new" vehicle. I work at a dealership, so I see what comes and goes regularly, and what problems arise. I'd purchase a 3.0 ford ranger in the early 2000's model, early toyota trucks, old 7.3s, etc I currently own an 03 4.0 ranger. Loyal as absolute fuck. Almost 200k miles and still going strong.

I like Ford as well, but I'm more of a mustang guy for now. When I have kids I'll need something bigger though!

I'm going to ignore the $50k price and say most likely the new Supra or s58/b58 BMW variant. I think this is the most competitive a BMW has been in straight line speed. Plus, I think I will need at least one more manual car.

I really like the new Supra, I'm not sure which BMW has the b58 in it. As long as it's not a "big sniffer" I'm ok with it.

Really good that you got the 5.7. V8's are better in general and the new v6 twin turbos had some issues.

anything with an ICE without turnkey ignition and no GPS - make sure they can't shut the engine off remotely and you're golden - ok maybe not this one - pretty sure it's more than 50K 🤣

It really depends what you are looking for. Cool factor, Size and space for passengers, Efficiency, Longevity/Resale...what are the main uses of your daily driver?
