Watched the movie yesterday then picked up the book. Always watch the movie first if you can. The movie is always worse. So if you like it, the book will be better. That way you get 2 good experiences instead of reading the book, then seeing how they butchered it in the movie. One of the main characters has a wife of 19. They met when she was 16 & have been married 3 years. Later in the book you find out that he is more than twice her age. 😯 I read the book because the movie didn’t give me the answers I was looking for. I don’t think the book will either but I don’t regret either one I presume.

IMO, all of Cormac McCarthy's books are fantastic; however, he is *not* for the faint of heart.

One of my muses recommended this to me some years back. I was thinking about her in the wee hours last night, but knowing that no man steps in the same river twice, I decided to read this instead. As it turns out the book is different too. It has been edited by Mr Gaiman from the original and among other things, about 12,000 words from the first draft that were previously left out were added back. I am aware of the series however I haven’t seen it and don’t plan to watch it either. Not that I have anything against it. I just, have a way of doing things. I do recommend that you read it. While I don’t remember exactly what happens in the book, I do remember that I enjoyed it and thats good enough for me recommend it (unlike ‘For whom the bell tolls’, whichI read last year and in my opinion, was so bad that I not only disliked it but it put me off the Author entirely ) I’m about 5% through it. I may be back to talk about it later or perhaps just to simply say that I finished. looking forward to seeing what you’re reading. \-(not) Paul Ng

Fuck it, I’m gonna finish it. I didn’t buy it and I’m enjoying it. Just because we both like money doesn’t mean I have to stop liking money cause they like money…

Dune by Frank Herbert I…don’t think I’ll be continuing this series. I want to say it was bad but that’s not quite it. I just didn’t like it. I haven’t been on sojooo for a while but I have read many more between no country for old men and this.

I'm reading a PDF of Mein Kampf right now, however my fuckass ADHD cannot focus with a digital copy. Definitely going to have to purchase a physical.

Just started it, so no recommendations yet. I enjoy dystopian fiction. Cheers me right up. Prepper inspiration.

Ooh, I love a good dystopian fiction book too. I’ve been reading a lot of Y.A. Over the past year and a half. I may check this out. I couldn’t find it at any of my local libraries or on [Anna’s Archive](https://soj.ooo/p/books/post/4399d5b3baf13c4c5a1f651b5b8b4396). Is this like a newer/ unknown author?

Maybe, it was recommended in Kindle Unlimited. Some authors I enjoy in this genre are S.A. Ison, Bayleigh Higgins (Primordial Earth series), Mike Kraus, Justin Bell, to name a few. A few years ago I read an awesome series about a bacteria that would eat plastic and save the environment but it basically went rogue and ruined the earth. That was a fun series. I can’t remember the author’s name or any titles! Ugh, getting older sucks.
