It's been awhile so I looked it up. I remembered it was a winter wheat. It turned out good. I liked it. Hard Red Winter Wheat is widely regarded as the best variety for sprouting due to its high germination rate, excellent shelf life, and sweet, nutritious sprouts. It is ideal for making wheatgrass juice, sprouted bread, flour, or simply enjoying as a fresh, nutrient-dense food. Recommended for sprouting: Organic Hard Red Winter Wheat (Triticum aestivum) is specifically bred for sprouting and offers superior results compared to spring or soft wheat varieties. Key benefits: High in fiber, antioxidants, vitamins A, C, and E, chlorophyll, and essential amino acids. Sprouting enhances digestibility and nutrient availability. Where to buy: True Leaf Market offers organic hard red winter sprouting seeds in sizes from 25g packets to 35lb buckets. Southern Seed Exchange and SproutPeople also carry organic, non-GMO hard red winter wheat seeds, often labeled for sprouting or juicing. Important note: Always use organic, non-GMO, and clearly labeled "**sprouting seeds**"—regular wheat intended for planting or baking may be chemically treated and unsafe for consumption.

That was my favorite time of year actually, Nothing hits the spot more than a handful of wheatberries fresh out of the combine still warm from the sun, except warm milk full fat straight from the milking bucket. With the fat so thick it globs to the side of the cup.
