Long term I would choose Canada but specifically the western provinces because they provide all the money to run Canada financially and they are vastly under populated for its land mass. They have so many undeveloped resources and strategically it would be easy to get them to leave of their own accord. There is a rift between the west and east in Canada that's easily exploitable. Once the west leave, Canada is broken financially and then within a few years they would be begging to join. 40 percent of people in Alberta want to leave Canada so it be nothing to push an additional 10 percent towards self annexation. Plus those populations are hugely conservative and high numbers of trades and workers so they are exactly what America needs to "build back better," plus it would ensure the oil and gas Americans need to further their future plans. This will most likely happen within a few years. It's taking care of itself really. A group of Albertans are already in Washington DC trying to figure out how to become a sovereign state under America and work out details of a deal. This is unofficial but it's still happening. With Carney rigging the election to win, it will be a slam dunk for America. Point is canada is the most mineral rich, under populated and from what the rumors are the Americans don't want eastern Canada, they are only saying what they are because it's meant to get the west to leave.
