I've perhaps a particularly unique experience with "Jews", the label being basically irrelevant to me during my childhood. At one point our area received an Israeli immigrant, quite Arabic in appearance, literally ingenious as an engineer, but, primarily a machinist, and actually quite inspirational to me. He was so unique that many people simply referred to him as "The Jew", quite without ill intent. Later on, someone close to me converted to Judaism and overnight began to take on the historic baggage of Judaism, ultimately leading me to research that history and determining it is all mythical and largely fictional. When Joe Biden was initially running for office I was working next door to a place where he was stumping, a private home, Jewish owned. Absolutely the nicest people you'd ever want to know. Polite, considerate, generous. And completely lacking in the characteristics I expect in an ordinary person. Their home was a nice place, but, literally everything was seemingly a covering, camouflage almost. Nothing whatsover about it could be described as whimsical, no element existed which revealed any trace of simple personal preference. It's quite odd. I have no idea if I'm projecting my preconceptions or perceiving something real. And if I am, I'm not at all sure what it is I'm perceiving.
