Keep me updated on your grow. I'm always interested in watermelon container gardening. I'm trying to grow some smaller watermelons in black fabric pots, 5 and 7 gallon. First time using containers for watermelons. I’m in Zone 5b, so it’s a pretty short growing season. I’m trying: \- Mini Love: 70-75 days \- Little Darling: 70-75 days \- Sugar Baby: 75-80 days \- Mini Me: about 80 days For containers, I'm planning one plant per pot. Mini Love and Mini Me seem best suited for 5 gallon pots, while Sugar Baby and Little Darling are better fits for 7 gallon pots. In Zone 5b, I'm focusing on warm soil, fast early growth, steady watering and early row cover if needed. Mini Love is probably the safest bet, followed by Little Darling, Sugar Baby and Mini Me.
