No, they are still rolling out age verification. They just kind of jumped the gun and implemented it too soon and without clear communication with users. A quote from their CTO: "Let me be upfront: we knew this rollout was going to be controversial. Any time you introduce something that touches identity and verification, people are going to have strong feelings. Rightfully so. In hindsight, we should have provided more detail about our intentions and how the process works. " They also tested out a Palantir-linked company called Persona, which really upset a lot of users. Discord tried to alleviate concerns by saying 90%+ of their users will never need to do age verification or upload their ID. Sounds great, right? Well... The reason they don't need 90%+ to verify their age, is because they are constantly tracking, logging and analyzing everything you do on the site, and use that to determine your age. And they believe the system is accurate enough that 90%+ of users won't need to upload an ID, which is basically them admitting just how much of your data they are logging and analyzing.
