I agree with your sentiment generally but many immigrants nowadays are not skilled geniuses. The whole H1-B thing and the meme online that computer science students can't get work proves this. Just because someone is a mediocre programmer doesn't mean we need a billion of them cause tech "bros" can pay them 20% less than Americans. If you see any content from young Americans with comp sci degrees, they just complain that they can't get work and there's thousands of people agreeing with them. It's a real phenomenon. My main point is we don't need any low-mid level talent in the west. We only need maybe 10,000 geniuses per year, anything else is unnecessary and it's not possible that there's that many geniuses coming here, they're just average programmers or whatever. Western countries need to put their people first, if we're not getting good education here or if it's too expensive then that needs to be fixed. Immigration is literally a last resort outside of the 10,000 geniuses per year.

I agree the H1-b thing is a total mess. The Christmas night massacre from Vivek and elon on twitter was very eye opening. I was wondering when Vivek would unzip his face and reveal his lizard skin. Like I said before my main points are, Immigrants need to assimilate into american culture. We are a melting pot, but we must melt immigrants, not get more pots. Strangely as a libertarian myself, one of the only government agencies I would support growing is the immigration department. Immigrants should go through more rigorous vetting. And good quality applicants should be fast tracked. Chain migration is also an issue. H1-bs are a glaring issue. The whole idea of importing cheap foreign labor is short sighted. Ok we want cheap labor to keep prices down, or These indians bringing in all their friends and family to take jobs at lower wages than american citizens. Where does this lead to after a generation? If I immigrate here and steal a job, have some kids, then my kids are now in the same problem, they will their jobs to the next wave of immigrants. Its a self defeating cycle spiraling the country into the toilet, where americans will become 2nd class citizens in their own country and lose all of the middle classes wealth.

ahh shoot typod bad, meant to say : "If I immigrate here and steal a job, have some kids, then my kids will now have the same problem, they will lose their jobs to the next wave of immigrants."
