Trump lifted the sanctions he signed off on in 2019 went into effect 2020 back then he called them "brutal and crippling" so they called it The Caesar Syrian Protection Act or Caesar's Law. The Law had a sunset clause in it after five years link below. The intent of the law was to cripple the economy, kill the currency, impoverish and demoralize the people. I have seen that 90% of the people live below the poverty line there. That people literally waited until the end of the month to get an ounce of red meat. No bueno. Today I saw him saw again that "The Law was brutal and crippling but served an importaant function". Sunset clause second paragraph another link below. https://www.rand.org/pubs/commentary/2021/07/the-power-and-limits-of-threat-the-caesar-syrian-civilian.html Link. “Caesar's Law ” An American punishment for Assad paid for by Syrians on the Iraqi way in Saddam's era https://politicalstreet.org/2668/

I forgot to add this which I posted somewhere else. "They are cheering the lifting of sanctions in Saudi Arabia and especially in Syria. I lifted a copy of the demands to be met from the press secretary Karoline Levitt. #1 normalize relations with Israel."
