Simple, many people have been found to be falsely accused, falsely sentenced. Innocent men and women. If we didn't have that wait period in place, they could have died without actually doing anything wrong. It's already bad enough that many people spend decades in jail when they are innocent because of a corrupt system or the law not doing its due dilligence, false evidence, lying victims, etc. They don't need to also die for something they did not do. We need to think with compassion in our hearts, not cruelty. Benjamin Franklin stated it as: "it is better 100 guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer".

In Ben Franklin's time, people were killed for stealing. I have no compassion towards child rapists, drug dealers/cartels responsible for many deaths, people who have robbed the masses. They don't have compassion when they're vomiting crimes and only feel regret when they're caught. If someone committed these life ruining crimes and there is not a shadow of a doubt they are innocent, they should be executed after sentencing. Why waste money on keeping them alive?

In 2024, the United States reached a significant milestone: the exoneration of the 200th individual from death row since 1973. This underscores persistent issues within the criminal justice system, including wrongful convictions and official misconduct. Recent U.S. Exonerations Three men were exonerated from death row in 2024, bringing the total number of exonerations since 1973 to 200. These cases are illustrative of patterns seen in many other wrongful capital convictions: all involved official misconduct, two of the three 2024 exonerees are Black, and the three men spent an average of 38.6 years awaiting exoneration. DEATH PENALTY INFORMATION CENTER International Perspective Internationally, Japan witnessed a landmark exoneration in 2024. Iwao Hakamada, believed to be the world's longest-serving death row inmate, was acquitted after nearly 58 years of incarceration. Convicted in 1968 for a quadruple murder, Hakamada's case was marred by coerced confessions and fabricated evidence. His acquittal in September 2024 highlighted significant flaws in Japan's criminal justice system and spurred calls for reform. THE GUARDIAN These cases highlight the critical need for ongoing scrutiny and reform of capital punishment systems worldwide to prevent the irreversible consequence of executing innocent individuals.

So in 50 years, of all the crimes committed in that time, 200 were exonerated. WOOOAAAH! jk... the freedom project that gets people exonerated is a jewish led group that just tries to find some little string to pull on to unravel an otherwise tight case. They recently got a murderer out, he became an advocate for them, went on Joe Rogan to talk about how "he dindu nuffin" and then was found with a body in his trunk and another buried in his back yard. I have sympathy for the victims.

As I said, the system is not perfect. But that goes both ways. I don't know how you feel faith wise, but I place my faith in God and Jesus when it comes to these things. For I am only human and far from perfect. Yes, we need a justice system, yes we need to incarcerate criminals and people who hurt the innocent. But I do not think it is up to us to kill a person, no matter the circumstances. For that would make us no better than them, or worse, in the case they happened to be innocent. I don't know about you, but I do not want innocent blood in my hands or concience. The only time I believe it is ok to take a life is in self defense and if I have no other choice. That is firmly always gonna be my opinion. But you are welcome to disagree. I can only tell you how I feel about it and hope God softens your heart towards it. That is all I can do. I can't change your mind on it. Only you can do that.

I'm essentially a non practicing catholic. I should return to mass but life is chaotic and I should make a better effort for my family. The reason we are in this mess is because we no longer execute true criminals. There's no accountability for the monsters. Let me ask you this, if there is a person who has killed 5 people, through distributing poisoned drugs, and will only serve a prison sentence of 5 years for possession of drugs. He has been arrested before and has been linked to previous deaths. He has not shown any signs of remorse, and has clearly stated that he will continue to distribute the poisoned drugs. Would you let him free at the end of his sentence where he will surely continue killing people with the poison?

That's a very specific case, and for mass murder in that scale, he would do way more than five years. You are making up a hypotetical scenario to fit your criteria. One that we do not know if it would ever happened. And if it did, I agree he should be given a harsher punishmet. But your logic makes no sense. If he killed all those people and created so much suffering, why would you want him to just die and go easily without suffering himself? Death is a pretty weak penalty if you ask me. He doesn't get to suffer for what he has done, think about it, feel guilt. He gets off pretty fast and easy. If you want him to suffer and pay for what he's done. Why would you want him to die right away? Your logic does not logic. Just like liberal logic, if you think about it for more than five seconds without hate in your heart, it all falls apart.

Well for a true Christian you don't believe in hell? This world is temporary, and you don't think that a pedo would be burning alive in hell? That's the point of execution, not for them to "suffer" in the mortal world but they would suffer for an eternity. My logic is sound and drug dealers are responsible for many deaths now with the current fentanyl trend. Millions of Americans die annually due to fentanyl OD. So not that uncommon and not hyper specific

First off NEVER assume to tell me what being a true Christian or Christianity is. Have you read the bible? have you studied it? Have you lived your life for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? I don't think so. Else you would know better than to say such claims. According to the Bible, the indirect blood on your hands from such a person, criminal or not, would also land you in hell. And let's be clear, we are talking about real Hell. Not the one you mistakenly seem to think is hell. Who was only described as such in Dante's Inferno. A divine "Comedy". A lot of people seem to take that as part of the bible for some reason. Or describe hell as what is found in that novel instead of the Bible. Only God gets to decide who goes to hell or doesn't. Hell is the abscence of God's love after all. If you rob someone from the chance of redeeming themselves into the eyes of the lord, whoever it may be, if you shorten their lifespan with your own actions, be it direct or indirect, guess who else is going to hell? You are. For you are playing God and offering life and death judgement when that is not your job. Matthew 5:38-39 – "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." Jesus teaches mercy over retaliation. Romans 12:19 – "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." Paul instructs believers to trust God’s justice rather than seeking revenge.

It's not revenge, if someone has proven that they cannot live peacefully in society, then they shouldn't. Your solution is to send everyone to Bible camp to repent, then we can let them out just so they go on to commit more crime. Where's the "i <3 tim pool" soyjak when you need it?

I never said that, to paraphrase from your own red pilled mentality, you are acting emotional and putting words in my mouth that I never said, according to the red pill, you are the one acting feminine. if anyone is acting like a soyjak here would be you. Life is precious and we did not create it, so we do not get to end it either. throw someone in jail if you want, prision, for as long as you'd like. there's still a chance new evidence might come out and he might be exonerated. According to your irrational beleifs, you would be ok with all the men falsely accused of rape to be put to death. I rather pay with my own money for 1000 prisioners to rot in jail than for one innocent person to suffer and die. Your beleif is evil and heartless. I will not have their blood on my hands, I don't care what you say, I will never change my mind on the death penalty. Life is sacred and I will fight for a person's right to live, be it a fetus or a convict. Either extreme.

I never said I believed in the "red pill" scene stuff, you're doing the same thing you're accusing me of. So I guess you're a hypocrite. Amazing! Anyways, there's a difference in an unborn child/ baby and a convicted criminal, no child should be murdered in the womb but a murderer should be put in a pit

You called me a soyjak. that is 100% a red piller thing to say. I had been respectful to you for most of our conversation, but I do not tolerate disrespect. Only one person is allowed to treat me however they please and that is The Lord himself Jesus Christ. Now, you may be in denial, but you still behave like a red piller. If you wanna burn in hell over a silly fantasy thinking yourself superior, by all means, keep it up and have fun. I did my due dilligence in informing you that the path you travel is one of revenge, anger and nothing good will come of it. Now I'm gonna stop arguing with you, because as wiser men than me have said "Never argue with a stupid person, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." Cheers, I wish you the best.

That's wher you make a mistake. Rarely do we ever know 100% if someone is guilty or not. Even with all the systems in place and the 20 year wait, we have still killed innocent people with the Death Penalty. Obviously, the system is flawed. Human beings are not perfect by any stretch, and neither are the systems we have set in place. I as a christian, believe only god gets to decide when someone passes away. We are not god, we do not know everything. We often make mistakes. That is my stance, you are welcome to disagree though.

Even the meme coin rug pullers should be executed. We should protect these people who have their life savings taken from them by snake oil salesmen. It's foolish that they fell for it, but it's also an unregulated market where people use their celebrity to trick their fans.

I do agree those people including Trump, Javier, Elon, etc should all be brought to justice for scamming people out of their hard earned money. Even though those people are partially to blame for the loss of their money. They worship a man who is far from perfect. We should never worship any man but Jesus. That's how we get cults, which is what the left and the rigth have both become now. We are all weak to becoming corrupt given enough power, which is why we gotta strive to be better people. Once we acknowledge the fact that we can all be corrupted and tainted by evil, that's when we can take steps to prevent such an outcome. That's why I encourage people towards Christianity. It is such a good feeling to look up to someone who is perfect like Jesus. Yes, we will sin and mess up from time to time. But if you "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars,". Those people are bad people, I get it. But that doesn't mean we have to be as bad as them. That's how we got in this mess to begin with. We are better than them. That is our strenght. That is how we will defeat them. Let's prove it with our actions, not just our words.

This is a great point Did you know the rate currently 46% of murders each year go unsolved. You would think with the rise of forensics, dna, finger printing etc the rate would be going up. But it is infact going down.
