Parent Post: Why can't I EDIT my posts?

@matt @dangun I like the reasoning behind it but, I'd like to second a request I saw here before for a timed edit button, maybe just one or two minutes. I get that we can reply to our own posts for edits and additions, but I feel that it clutters the discussion and might even lead to erroneously bumping topics.

if we add a 1 or 2 minute...someone in the future can come along and make it 3 min. 5 min. 1 year. etc. it may seem uncomfortable, but it has immense long term value. that said, this site will eventually have a community governance model and users can vote on such features. until then....no edit. no delete.

How's about a delay timer before posts get sent to the server, short like 5-10 seconds? No editing but you can choose to not send before the timer runs out or simply let it go. Regardless I do agree with the rationale behind the decision.
