The camera is pointed in a certain direction and are on poles so you can see which way they are pointed. They aren't moving around. The camera records. Then people in the future type in license plate numbers and the system reports on where the license plate has been or is. Yes, I agree this tool can be mis-used. Its a camera. Should we ban cameras? We are moving to a low trust society, this is a response to it.

"They aren't moving around." False. Flock's AI-powered cameras like Condor have lenses that move and can lock on to and follow an individual, all behind a dark housing, so you can't tell who it's watching. You're stuck on "license plate camera" but Flock is way past that now. They have microphones listening to people talking, analyzing with AI, and sending police if they deem your speech "aggressive." They use triangulation between multiple devices to determine your location and send it to police so they can pull up on you. They have an advanced search where they can search "men in blue hats in 10 mile radius of this address" and it will pull video for every man filmed in a blue hat within 10 miles of that address. They can search for people wearing a political shirt. They can search for people by religious bumper stickers. They can build a report showing all of the most common locations visited by people with a particular bumper sticker, allowing them to easily track political and civil movements. They have drones that they fly over protests to capture video of people exercising their constitutional rights. Flock is NOT just pictures of license plates. That hasn't been true for a long time.

"Send it to police" Yes, that is what this technology does. We as humans have allowed the government to go this way. Ron Paul was the last "hope". We don't live in the world of the "Founders" we have more people and 66 law enforcement agencies that don't do anything. This is what the government does and will do. Create more and more agencies to do a job another failing agency doesn't do. Image if all the Federal agents, state, county, and city workers actually doing their jobs. They would be on the road monitoring people also. Do you prefer a cop on every corner? Humans can't watch every part of the world we have, but cameras can.

So, you admit that law enforcement systems are broken, and you think the solution is to give them more technology that it makes it easier for them to violate our rights? 🤷♂️ Show me an independent study or publicly available crime and arrest data that shows adding Flock cameras increased arrests and prosecutions or reduced crime over a period of longer than 6 months. You can't. Because it doesn't exist. But there are dozens of studies showing the exact opposite. There are cities that revealed crime stayed the same, or went up in some cases. There are cities that revealed no increase in arrests or prosecutions. There are cities that paid out tens of millions of dollars in fines from misuse, with no positive impact on crime or arrests. You are basing all of your arguments on the idea that it works. But, it doesn't. Have crimes been solved using Flock data? Of course. But the data is very clear - we do NOT solve more crimes when we use Flock cameras. But we DO see a big increase in cases of misuse, lawsuits, improper stops and arrests. The data shows a big negative impact, but no overall positive impact. That's right from cities and police departments who went all in on the technology, only to later remove it when they saw it was ineffective and causing more problems than good.
