This isnt even somehow comparable or relevant. People like that who don't pay their friends back money, wouldn't magically be more inclined to If you were to create some form of interest on top of the loan, you still will end up getting fucked. If anything your example is why the use of collateral is often times nesscary when loaning someone money. Getting some item that acts as insurance that is of equal value to cover your monetary loss in case you don't get paid back, but creating usury is not the same.

Something of equal or higher value or sentimental worth, I find something as simple as somebody's driver license is suffient for small loans cos the cost and head ache of replacing oneis usually enough motivation to pay back the person you owe money to then to go through the DMV. And yes, that usually will ensure you will be repaid, if not, you at least have something you can possibly sell to replace a majority of the money you've lost, so your not totally fucked over, just semi fucked
