The government and our banking system are separate. The Federal Reserve is a private entity that prints money for profit. The "government" just wants to promise money to the voters to get into power, after that it doesn't much matter to them if the system is compromised or not.

I know they are separate. I believe the Fed is above the government. Look at how Trump tries to threaten Powell but he can't fire him.
